Why are my zinnias dying

This is a common disease in Zinnias and begins usually in the mid-summer. Powdery mildew is caused by fungal pathogens. Powdery mildew is also seen in plants where the air circulation is poor. High humidity promotes the growth of these fungal pathogens. Try not to wet the Zinnia foliage to avoid this infection. Water your Zinnias only when the soil has gone completely dry. Check the soil with your bare fingers if needed. Getting a soil moisture meter is worth it if you ask me.

Leaves become droopy when the plant sits in waterlogged conditions for too long. Droopy leaves turn yellow eventually. Zinnia leaves turn brown after yellowing. The brown leaves are usually seen when the roots get rotten. Zinnia flowers deform when the plant is infected by Aster yellows. The infected Zinnia plant gets stunted.

This disease is common in Zinnias and other related plants. The disease is spread by Aster Leafhopper insects. Get rid of the infected plants as soon as you identify them to prevent a large-scale infection. Zinnias, for example, do best in full sun and compost-enriched soil. But most of the older varieties are so prone to mildew and occasionally bugs that I stick mainly with the compact new zinnia series 'Profusion' and 'Zahara.

They were looking so good. Mine do that when they are underwatered I just cut off the really crispy leaves The white things might be aphids or spider mites They both like Zinnias I water them everyday, espically with as hot as it has been. The entire left is white? I'm not sure what it is. Hmmm, I wonder if it's some kind of fungal disease That happened to my Vincas a few years ago. Is there anything you can do for something like that? Okay I think I might have found my problem.

I've been doing some reading about zinnia and alot of different website all say to water Zinnia's below the foilage to help prevent the mildew.

There are mildew resistant zinnias, so maybe next year you can plant those instead. They usually don't have flowers as large, but they are tough as nails and now come in a better variety of colors.

Profusion zinnias are one example.
